Davide Lufrano Chaves was born 4th April 1983 in Prato, Italy and
with Latin American Costa Rican origins. In 2005, he ranked 4th in
the Italian National Classical Guitar Competition, Daniele Ridolfi and
in 2009, gained a masters degree in music with profile in classical
guitar at the Conservatorio Puccini of La Spezia under the guidance
of maestro Carlo Mascilli Migliorini.
He began studying music at the age of 8 with classical piano, choir and
then guitar at the higher music school G. Verdi Prato where he studied
classical guitar with masters Andriola Daniel & Carlo Mascilli Migliorini;
jazz guitar at Berklee Umbria Jazz with teachers Gianni Zei & Riccardo
Galardini; flamenco guitar with masters Juan Lorenzo & Oscar Herrero
at the Academy of Flamenco Guitar and modern composition piano with
teacher Sabrina Paoli.
Currently in London working as a performer, teacher and composer, is
the guitarist in the world music band The Magic Tombolinos
2010 Evo Music Rooms winners / ft in the Rob Brydon show and Womad
2011); fronts flamenco rumba project De Fuego guitar duo with Edina
Balczo (ft in Glastonbury and Sziget 2011); with accordionist Maurizio
Pala in acoustic tango project 'Tango Porteño' and guitarist for latin rock
singer songwriter Surianne and collaborates with other musicians.
